Long Running Tasks

Long-running multi-step tasks that plan, get your approval, then act.

Long-Running Tasks

Plan Before Acting

Cub can handle complex, multi-step tasks that go far beyond a single reply. It plans every move first, shows you the steps, and only begins execution after you approve — giving you full visibility and control before anything happens.

1

Send a planning prompt

Type a message that describes what you want to build or accomplish. Cub recognises planning intent automatically — no special syntax needed.

  • Plan a launch strategy for my SaaS product
  • Build me a project roadmap for a mobile app
  • Create an architecture plan for my API service

Your message must be at least 20 characters and include an action word (plan, build, create, implement…) alongside a target (app, platform, service, repo…).

2

Cub builds an execution plan

The request is sent to the long-running task engine. Cub analyses your prompt and produces a numbered list of steps, each labelled with the tool it will use.

Planning usually completes in under a minute. You will see a live status indicator while the plan is being generated.

3

Review and approve

The completed plan appears in the chat as a structured list of steps. Read through each step, then choose to approve or cancel before anything runs.

Nothing executes until you click Approve & Run. You are always in control.

4

Watch it execute

Once approved, the task runs step by step. A progress tracker shows which steps are done, which is active, and which are still pending. You can pause, resume, or stop at any time.

Steps that require additional approval will pause and wait for your confirmation before continuing.
